Business Objective

340 on the Park is a luxury residential condominium tower in the heart of Lakeshore East in Chicago. One of the tallest all-residential buildings in the country, 340 on the Park towers sixty-five stories and offers resident-owned parking spots to condominium owners.

In order to accommodate current residents already driving EVs, and attract new residents looking for EV-friendly complexes, 340 on the Park needed an EV charging partner that could handle a large-scale installation, with ample room for scaling, all without the need for costly upgrades.

Solution

After completing a feasibility study with a third-party consultant, building management decided that EverCharge would be the best partner for installing
a brand new network of EV chargers in the tower’s parking garage.

EverCharge installed 38 chargers, accommodating 48 users with room to grow
by at least 30% without the need for any power upgrades. This would not have been possible with another vendor with the time constraints and scalability we
were able to offer.

340 on the Park prioritized choosing a partner that could handle the entire process from start to finish. From quarterly billing to ongoing support, we provide just that. We focus on delivering fast response times, follow-ups with building management, and one-on-one interactions with owners when needed.

Additionally, EverCharge’s patented SmartPower technology was a major selling point for the building and its status distinction as the first Silver LEED certified residential building in Chicago, marking the building as a symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.

Outcome

340 On the Park was designed to achieve designation as the first Silver LEED certified residential building in the Midwest. Partnering with EverCharge was a critical step in underscoring the community's ongoing commitment to sustainability and decarbonization.

The building was able to save about $75k in infrastructure upgrade costs by leveraging the use of a larger panel centrally located to service multiple floors. Additionally, the charging stations themselves have an internal disconnect, saving money on individual installations. The building was also able to achieve a 23% EIU reduction in their decarbonization mission, a ranking system to evaluate energy consumption, efficiency, and performance.
